Tri-Parish Bulletin

Dear Parishioners,

There has been much discussion and many suggestions that we have one church bulletin for all

three parishes instead of the present three bulletins, so as to ensure that everyone receives the same

information regarding our parishes and events when people attend Mass at a neighboring parish in our

cluster.

After discussing this option with the Pastoral Councils and studying the logistics and feasibility of

having one bulletin, we have decided to have one “tri-parish” bulletin beginning in July. The names of all

three parishes will appear on the cover (except for special occasions when no parish names will appear)

and each parish will have its own page of information, with leftover space being used for other available

information.

With the new tri-parish bulletin beginning in July, the need for having a name for our cluster of

parishes is again evident. Having a name will give a sense of identity and a source of inspiration and will

sound better than being part of the “Jewett City (or Preston or Voluntown) Cluster.”

On the weekend of May 4-5, you will be invited to submit one or more names by Sunday, May 12, for

consideration as a name for our parish cluster. On May18-19, the list of submitted names will be published in

the parish bulletin or as a bulletin insert. Two weekends later, on June 1-2, each person attending

Mass will have the opportunity to vote for the name of our parish cluster. The name receiving the largest

number of votes will be submitted to Bishop Cote along with a request that he name the cluster with that name.

While we prepare for these upcoming events, please continue to pray for our three parishes and our parish cluster.

Sincerely,

Father Ted Tumicki
